Birthing my drum

On 31st October 2014 I birthed my very own drum. It was an amazing experience and I did not expect how emotional I would feel either.

We cleansed our items to make the drum, the hide, wood frame and material for beaters. We were taken through step by step how to make the drum. It was very relaxing concentrating on making something. It wadrums also good to keep your mind from wandering and thinking about every day things or things you need to do, or any worries. Once you came to the ending of tying through the last piece of lace and cutting the long bit off, we all said ”Happy Birthday” as our drums were birthed! We went on to make our beaters afterwards, which was also very relaxing as you are concentrating on it.

After we had all made our drums, we were taken on a journey to meet the spirit of them. We laid back with our drum on our hearts and our beaters in our hands. Our teachers played their drums, drumming us on a journey. I met the spirit of my drum, a beautiful stag who said he was hear to help me through my journey and he will always be here with me now. He said he loved me and I truly did feel that love and I felt love for him. I truly love my drum. I did not expect these feelings or how emotional I got meeting the spirit of my drum, but it was amazing.

I would not be without my drum now and I would highly recommend making your own drum. You have a deep connection with it, making it yourself and connecting to the spirit of the animal you have made live on in a drum. The spirit of the animal will live on, making music, helping to heal and bring joy.

Here is a poem I have written about my drum:

Hail to my drum, the heart beat of the earth
It helps me to heal and it helps me to connect
Connect me to all things, but importantly to myself
Deep within I go to discover who I am

Hail to my drum, the shamans horse
It helps me to journey, travelling deep within myself
I let go of things that no longer serve me
Helping me to heal and to be free and to be happy

Hail to my drum, thank you for connecting

Hail to my drum, and I love you deeply

Thank you for reading and I hope you all will find the wonderful connection and healing a drum can give you.

Brightest Blessings

A new start

So we have now started a new year and what better way to start it than to first let go of the past and what no longer serves us. I started by playing my drum, listening to its beautiful sounds and peacefully drifting away. I began to thank the Goddess/God/Universe for bringing the lessons into my life in 2014. I have become stronger this year with some challenges and I have also learnt to start loving myself more. It has truly been a year of rebirth for me, being a reborn phoenix out of its ashes!

I also thanked them for the roof over my head, the family I have and having a job to pay for things such as simple things as food. I am grateful for what I have in my life and I am lucky.

Once I thanked them, I asked them and my guides to help me in the new year to manifest things I want, to bring love and happiness into my life and to help with loving myself more. Still playing my drum and listening to its beautiful song and also thanking it for being in my life. I ended with thank you and namaste.

So why not try this yourself? You do not need a drum, just put on some relaxing music and make yourself comfortable.

Listen to the music and start to relax. Ask your guides to be with you and thank them for being in your life. Thank you Goddess/God/Universe or whoever/whatever makes you comfortable. Ask for help with letting go of things that no longer serve you. State also ‘ I release and let go of anything that no longer serves me. Help me to release these things so I may go into the new year a fresh and to bring into my life love, happiness and abundance.’

Once you have given thanks you can then ask for help in the new year with things you would like help with. You can also ask your guides if they have anything they need to tell you at this moment in time and see what messages you get. Once you have done this thank them and say goodbye.

Remember to write down anything you have experienced, any messages you have received. Remember you can always happy new yeartalk to your guides as well anytime. Just sit and relax and ask them to be with you. Ask them to speak to you and help you.

I wish you a wonderful, healthy, happy and abundant new year and wish that all your dreams come true.

Blessed be

Charleen xx
